Queensland Marine Training Services was formed in March 2003 in response to an increasing number of requests to conduct specific maritime related training. In January 2006 we began to focus on the delivery of commercial courses including Elements of Shipboard Safety, Coxswain, Master 5, Master 4 and Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 and have built a number of partnerships with the maritime industry to facilitate training activities.

Our affiliation with Wide Bay TAFE enables students to progress through commercial competencies utilising the most modern and adaptable set of assessment instruments available. All our commercial training is undertaken within a competency based approach revolving around underpinning knowledge workshops and practical on-water training and assessment activities. All our commercial courses utilise the Maritime Safety Queensland approved assessment instruments and industry based task books.

Queensland Marine Training Services has been given Yachting Australia Recognised Teaching Establishment status. All our courses are conducted in strict accordance with the guidelines laid down by AQTF, Wide Bay TAFE, Yachting Australia or the Office of Maritime Communication (Marine Radio).
